We’re glad you found us.

Our whole desire with this e-book is to reframe what ADHD means. To replace a label that has never done justice to the people who carry it with something far more accurate: recognition, understanding, empathy and healing.

The hero of our book is Kipi Comelately, a creative, kind and curious woman who is struggling to manage her life, her household and her self-worth. Until a friend suggests she might have ADHD and Kipi begins to better understand her life experience of never quite fitting into the world around her, and begins to develop a new way of relating to her brain, her behaviour and her sense of herself.

This book doesn’t seek to frame ADHD as a superpower. Instead, the intention is to contribute to the growing conceptualisation of ADHD as being a different kind of brain; one that is hard-wired with strengths as well as challenges that can be quite different to neurotpyical brains.

The word ‘delightful’ has been chosen deliberately - as a purposeful contrast to the traditional view of ADHD as solely being a disorder (with full awareness that many ADHDers experience some aspects of their brain as anything but delightful). In time, we, along with many others, hope that ADHD will be officially renamed to more accurately reflect the complexity and richness of ADHD brains and people.

A Delightful Human Difference is a large and deeply personal piece of work. We’re currently at around 90 illustrations and counting, because ADHD is a vast, fascinating, and widely misunderstood topic.

Despite this, we are nearly finished.

This is where you can stay close to the project as it comes to life, and be among the first to know when the book is available to purchase and download.

Simply register below. In return, we’ll send you a signed, high-resolution digital print of one of the book’s illustrations, ready to print, frame, or use as a screensaver. A small thank you for your interest.

A Delightful Human Difference is an electronic book (e-book) and has been designed specifically for tablets and laptops. A printed edition may follow.

We can’t wait to share it with the world,

Matthew and Janelle
