Matthew Johnstone
Co-author and Illustrator

Matthew is a bestselling author, illustrator and keynote speaker whose work has taken him around the world and earned endorsements from Edward de Bono, Stephen Fry, the W.H.O. and Google.

This is his 11th book and, next to I Had a Black Dog, his most personal. Diagnosed with adult ADHD in 2024, Matthew recognised in that moment a lifetime of dots finally connecting, and knew this story needed to be told.

A Delightful Human Difference is equal parts lived experience and clinical wisdom, and the book Matthew wishes had existed a long time ago.

Janelle Booker
Co-author and Psychologist

Janelle has specialised in working with and learning from ADHDer therapy clients for many years now. Quite quickly she noticed that, in spite of how many daily challenges there can be for ADHDers, their strengths and the capacities they have that set them apart from others are rarely recognised by other people, education systems, workplaces and, too often, themselves.

From the start, Janelle’s intention has been to help to expand the world’s understanding of ADHD to incorporate the whole person, not just the deficits. For ADHDers, themselves, as well as those people who love them, work with them and teach them.

As well as continuing her work as a therapist, Janelle has appeared on podcasts and as a speaker where she shares what she has learned with as many others as she possibly can.
